The Scottish Government have confirmed to us that the deadline to install appropriate fire and smoke protection in homes throughout Scotland has been officially extended.
The requirements and regulations for all homes to have interlinked fire and carbon monoxide detectors situated in specific areas within the home were due to come into force on 1 February 2021.
However, taking cognisance of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulties this was likely to create for people seeking to install new fire and carbon monoxide alarms, the Scottish Parliament approved on December 16 2020, the request to delay the implementation until February 2022.
More information on the new regulations for home smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms can be found on our dedicated fire alarm website www.stirlingfirealarms.co.uk
