We recently communicated that by 1st February 2021 all homes in Scotland must have in operation an improved fire and smoke alarm system as detailed at www.stirlingfirealarms.co.uk
Last week it was indicated by the Scottish Government that they will bring a vote to Scottish Parliament seeking approval from MSP's to extend the legislation deadline to 1st February 2022.
Currently there has been no date set for the extension vote but we expect that vote to happen soon and we also expect the legislation deadline to be approved to 1st February 2022. We will update further when that happens.
The delay is NOT expected to bring any changes to the actual detailed new requirements of additional fire, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and the locations within your home - so the new legislation requirements will still apply by 1st February 2022.
For further details of the new legislation and requirements as well to book or enquire to us about how we can help your home comply visit www.stirlingfirealarms.co.uk or contact our office team.
